Biography
Sharon Su was born in 1990 and began studying classical piano under Marina Grudskaya when she was five years old. Since 2008 she has been studying under concert pianist Frank Wiens and Rex Cooper at the Conservatory of the University of the Pacific while pursuing a degree in piano performance.
Sharon has been performing her whole life, from her first recital at age 5 to master classes and concerts in college. She has gained honors and Panel distinctions by the Music Teacher's Association of California, in addition to performing in yearly recitals and conventions. She most recently gave her 2011 spring recital and performed in the Salzburger Schlosskonzerte series at Mirabell Palace in Salzburg, Austria. She also performs in chamber ensembles and as an accompanist for solo instrumentalists and vocalists.
In addition to piano, Sharon also plays violin; at ten years of age she began her studies under Cecilia Huang and currently studies with Ann Miller. She has been a member of the California Youth Symphony and the Harker School Orchestra, and is currently a second violinist in the University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.
